Everyday life in the Middle Ages with Gillian Polack
ANU Centre for Continuing Education
6-8pm on 8 Thursdays from 19 September

One of the most fascinating aspects of history is people’s lives: what clothes they wore, what food they ate, what insults they hurled, what work they undertook. We will explore lives in both town and country, mainly in France and England from the eleventh to the fourteenth centuries.

Six approaches to editing fiction with Gillian Polack
ANU Centre for Continuing Education
6-8pm on 8 Tuesdays from 15 October

Writers need to understand how different kinds of editing work in order to successfully send in their best work, while editors can develop new approaches and meet the needs of a wider range of writers. This course explores editing for both groups. It will expand your choices and tools.

Fiction Writing – The Basics with Ian McHugh
CIT Solutions, Reid Campus
6.30-8.30pm on 6 Tuesdays from 29 October

Explore the key elements of writing fiction and strategies for developing as a writer. You will complete this course with an understanding of the building blocks of good stories plus approaches to improving their own writing.
